My favorite read from this summer was easily “Better Than the Movies” by Lynn Painter. It only took me two days to finish this 384 page book. It was impossible to put it down.
Lynn is a very talented author that knows exactly how to keep her readers intrigued and engaged in the story. Her amazing creativity was put to use in the making of the main characters of this book, Liz Buxbaum and Wes Bennett.
Liz is a fiery redhead who could not care less about what other people think of her retro fashion style and obsession with rom-com movies. Wes is the annoying boy next door who makes it seem like his sole mission in life is to make her’s miserable.
The two seem like a very unlikely couple, but as they say, opposites attract.
I really liked the author’s style of writing in this book. It would be better, in my opinion, if the chapters alternated which character’s point of view it was written in. Other than that, I really enjoyed it. I can’t wait to read more books by Lynn in the future.
Happy Reading!
