This movie has my heart. I’ve never had a movie make me laugh and cry so much at the same time. Louisa May Alcott is an incredibly talented author. I generally prefer the book over its movie adaptation, but this time it’s the opposite. Greta Gerwig truly did a fantastic job with casting and costuming. She captured the emotions and lessons from the book in such a deep way that it resonates with all viewers.
Times have changed, and girls are no longer as expected to follow a traditional route of marriage. However, we can still connect with the main character, Jo, as she tries to find her way in life. She focuses on doing what makes her happy and pursuing her true passions.
I love watching this movie because it feels like I’m witnessing the growth and adventures of my own three sisters and me. It also brings back such sweet memories of watching this movie with them when I was little.
I very highly recommend you watch this tear-jerking, humorous, and heartwarming film that will move you and make you smile. Bonus points if you watch it with your sister(s)!
