
Red Velvet Cookies with Cream Cheese Frosting
Servings: 24 cookies
Ingredients:
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cocoa powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 ½ cups granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tablespoon red food coloring
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)
Valentine’s themed sprinkles (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350℉ and line baking sheets with parchment paper
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cocoa powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Once cooled, frost the cookies with cream cheese frosting and add sprinkles.
