On Feb. 4 the long-awaited Grammy winners were announced. Some awards were well deserved, and some have been left out of a hard-earned Grammy.
To start off the night, Miley Cyrus won “Best Pop Solo Performance” with her song “Flowers,” beating other breathtaking songs such as “What I Made For?” by Billie Eilish and “Vampire” by Olivia Rodrigo.
SZA performed her songs “Snooze” and “Kill Bill.” She was nominated for a vast number of awards; however, she only went home with one Grammy for “Best R&B Song.”
Eilish won one of the most prestigious awards of the night, being awarded with “Song Of The Year” for her incredible song “What Was I Made For?” which perfectly enchanted listeners who found themselves hearing it on the radio, or in the award winning “Barbie” movie that grossed over $626 million worldwide.
Taylor Swift made history being the first ever person to win four “Album Of The Year” awards. She then announced her new album “The Tortured Poets Department,” which will contain 16 songs and one bonus track.
Lana Del Rey was robbed once again. “Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under
Ocean Blvd” did not win a single Grammy. Lana Del Rey has been nominated for 11 Grammys throughout her career, finding herself snubbed this year once again.
The Grammys awarded many women for their contribution in music, the “Album Of The Year” category being filled with female
nominees. Feb. 4 was a great night in music history.
