After an incredible triathlon season last year, which included medaling at the USA Junior Nationals and being a member of the Junior National Team at the 2023 World Championships in Hamburg, Ruth Pardy committed to the University of Arizona last September to further her athletic and academic careers.
The University invited Pardy down to Arizona this semester to practice with a professional triathlon group that trains in Tucson. Arizona is a much more beneficial place to train for triathlons as one can imagine, especially during the colder, snowy months. She does not practice with the University of Arizona’s NCAA team yet, but until then, she is getting stronger, faster, and learning a lot from the professional team she is training with.
Pardy is living in Tucson with another triathlete from Mexico. Her training this semester will lead up to the USA Nationals in July. She also will have the opportunity to compete in Canada this August. In September, the NCAA season starts up which Pardy is especially excited for.
“I think my favorite part about being in Arizona is the incredible athletes I get to train with, and the weather of course!” said senior Ruth Pardy.
